Olivar Santamaria has been a consistent winner since 2014, having won three Golds and one Silver award. The London International Olive Oil Competitions (LIOOC) is a prestigious event that celebrates excellence in olive oil production. Held annually, it provides a platform for olive oil producers from around the world to showcase their products and gain international recognition. The competition is divided into four main categories:

  1. Quality Competition: This category is open to varieties of extra virgin olive oil from any oil-producing country. The oils are submitted anonymously and evaluated through a blind tasting by a jury panel. Olivar Santamaria has been awarded in 2024 the Best Olive Oil under this category
  2. Packaging Competition: This category focuses on the design and packaging of olive oil products, supporting marketing strategies and enhancing brand recognition.
  3. Health Claim Competition: This involves a specialized chemical analysis to measure the levels of major phenols, followed by an organoleptic (sensory) evaluation by the jury.
  4. Infused Olive Oils Competition: This category includes olive oils infused with various ingredients like garlic, chili, truffle, and fruits, reflecting recent trends in the food and beverage industry.
